The myth that too much sex can cause your vagina to become loose is a lie. Think of your vagina as elastic muscles that can take in (penis or sex toy) and push out things coming its ways (a baby).

However, as you age and have children your vagina can become slightly looser but the difference is not noticeable. On the contrary, your vaginal muscles won’t lose their stretch permanently. It does not matter how much sex you have, your vagina will not stretch out permanently.

Vaginal Laxity

Vaginal laxity is a condition when a woman feels looseness of the vagina that could have resulted from trauma and stretching, or normal ageing. The symptoms of the vaginal laxity may include decreased sexual satisfaction and inability to orgasm due to loss of sensation.

The causes of vaginal laxity are related to aging and childbirth. However, the amount of vaginal stretch greatly depends upon the following factors:

  • Size of the infant
  • Circumstances of birth
  • Number of previous deliveries
